With the sea and coastline just a short walk away and surrounded by 33 acres of parkland and adjoining National Trust downland, Farringford is the perfect retreat for long stay holidays and short breaks.
The self catering Emily suites and Alfred cottages are located in the scenic setting of Farringford, for 40 years the former home of Alfred Lord Tennyson.
The self catering units all benefit from fully equipped kitchens and comfortable living areas. The convenient local, Orchard's family run store, will deliver your groceries to your holiday accommodation by prior arrangement. Recently refurbished the Alfred cottages offer vaulted ceilings, 2 ensuite bedrooms and some with own private gardens.
On-site facilities offered include a 9 hole par 3 golf course, tennis court, outdoor solar heated pool, children's pool, pool side bistro/bar with decked veranda and wifi available for internet access. Farringford is a dog friendly environment with many walks on and around the estate which can end at the purpose built dog wash station.
Footpaths from the estate lead to the famous Tennyson trail, a breathtaking walk along a spectacular coastal path heading east to Freshwater Bay and West to one of the Islands best known landmarks, The Needles. Here you can also enjoy the adjoining pleasure park and a chair lift ride down to the famous Alum Bay with its muticoloured sands. Also close by is the harbour town of Yarmouth with its numerous bars and restaurants, it is also one of the gateways to the Island from the mainland via the Wight link car ferry from Lymington.
