The IW RCC is set up to promote, develop and support voluntary and community initiatives, policies and interests throughout the Island, having special regard to the needs of those who are disadvantaged.
The Isle of Wight Rural Community Council is the main infrastructure or support body for voluntary/community organisations which make up the not-for-profit sector on the Isle of Wight. IWRCC is both a registered charity and company limited by guarantee.
IW RCC has 2 strategic functions:
As the Island’s Council for Voluntary Service (CVS)
As the Island’s Rural Community Council (IW RCC)
The RCC is paid by both the local authority and central government to undertake these functions.
