An ideal wet weather attraction situated in the Arreton Barns Complex. A facinating display of all things nautical and historical. Pirates, Shipwrecks, Lifeboats, Divers and Treasures of the Deep.

There is something of interest for everyone in this attraction, bursting at the seams with Spanish gold and silver, thousands of treasures recovered from under the sea, antique and present day diving equipment, ship models, the strange Merman, and a multitude of other intriguing relics from the past. The extensive collection of treasures and artefacts housed in the Shipwreck Centre was put together over the years by local diver Martin Woodward. He has been diving since the 1960s, and has dived on literally hundreds of wrecks around the Isle of Wight and worldwide. His collection has been on display to the public since 1978, and many additional displays of maritime heritage have been added over the years, including local RNLI vintage lifeboats, archive history, and stirring tales of wrecks and rescues. Action films of lifeboat rescues are shown in the audio-visual room.
